The Marc Restaurant | Interior Design
The overall remodel of the Marcus Whitman celebrates the historic detailing and honoring the architecture of the property and meticulous restoration work, while the select finishes have been updated to further enhance the detail concept. The space is to be welcoming, cozy, and approachable. Each visit to the Marcus Whitman Hotel will feel like a discovery of detailing.
The restaurant was designed to have a natural and wine forward approach to the textures and finishes and is a fresh approach to the restaurant feeling elemental. The refresh of the space maintains the architectural wood details of the ceiling and wall paneling while it introduce new modern lines to the booths and banquettes. A fully custom wine display was crafted to provide more intimate space for guests while also creating a feature within the environment. A variety of table finishes and dining chair styles infused causal luxury into the airy room. Artwork is a paramount element within the design and we worked closely with with floral artist Elle Fleurit to craft a story of Walla Walla wheat and farming culture in a three dimensional and modern way. Lighting has been replaced with modern fixtures in a blend of finishes and layered for an intimate feel that shifts from day to evening.
