Driven by the guest experience and long-standing relationship to the local community, the renovation of the Lobby now provides a third place for people to enjoy. Keeping the historic detailing and honoring the architecture of the property and meticulous restoration work, select finishes have been updated to further enhance the detail concept. Seating Groups of various layouts are now provided so wine sampling, sending a work email, or chatting with a friend over brunch is all possible. Music and lighting levels will play a large role in the ambiance of the spaces to enhance the experience.

Traditional silhouettes are used with modern colors and textures on the upholstered pieces and are highlighted by using contrasting welts or trims for added luxury. The space is designed to feel welcoming, cozy, and approachable. Custom designed area rugs feature classic patterning and modern motifs for depth and interest, while the lighting feels like a modern approach to transitional design. Each visit to the Marcus Whitman Hotel will feel like a discovery of detailing.
